Dolly Sen | How to be Unapologetic

ONLINE WORKSHOP - BOOKING REQUIRED

Saying sorry when you step on someone’s toes is ok, but being apologetic about being yourself is not. We live in a world where being embarrassed, ashamed or regretful of who we are or part of ourselves serves the status quo and those who profit from it. You are harder to oppress or control if you are unapologetic about your being.

I had to learn the hard way, from being a survivor of childhood abuse to being a gay, disabled, working class, fat woman of colour. I make no apologies about being any of those things, in fact they are my power.

This workshop includes how I came to this position, but also a discussion about how to find ways to challenging this toxic aspect of normal.

The other hopeful aim is to contribute toward a creative resource, such as a workbook, a zine, or a video to investigate the state of being unapologetic.

This event will take place via Zoom with online booking required. Before the event, you will receive a Zoom link via email. We do have a waiting list for this event - please sign up at normal@livingwords.org.uk if you would like to be put on the waiting list, and if you can't make this event anymore - please opt out so your space can be given to another person.
