RESIDENCY ANNOUNCEMENT & PROJECT CALL OUTS
Screen South and Living Words in conjunction with Normal? Festival of the Brain satellite projects across 2025, are delighted to announce that Italian artist Flaminia Celata will be in residency in Folkestone throughout June.
Called The Boundaries are Eminently Porous, the residency will see Flami exploring neuroplasticity and the brain, working with photography, video, sound and the unknown…
Focussing on 2 participatory projects, Flami will run:
∙The Memory Palace on 11th and 18th June with people living with dementia and their friends or partners - exploring objects and co-creating worlds
∙The Plastic Lab will meet 6 times (time tbc), bringing together people over 35 years old who have experienced later age coming out within the queer community as LGBTQIA+, who are curious to explore neuroplasticity, queer joy and visibility
Thursday 5th June at 5.30pm: Come and WELCOME Flami to Folkestone at Screen South’s hub in Glassworks
Fri 27th June at 6pm: Come to the sharing from the whole residency at Screen South’s hub in Glassworks
The project is supported by Strategia Fotografia 2024, promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture.
